Hasan Opçin

Hasan began his rug restoration career in Istanbul when he was 14.  At 15, he partnered with his brother Ahmet and at 18, they opened their first restoration workshop together. Early on Hasan realized the importance of speaking English for international business and began his formal study of English when he was 17.  In those years the Istanbul facility had twenty employees and they had working relationships with many European and American dealers.

In 1989, George and Neslihan Jevremovic entered a partnership with the Opçin family to form Woven Legends Restoration, a premier rug-producing company.  At that time, Robert Mann was brought into the business as a technical advisor.  In 1991 the company moved its operations to the Aegean Free Trade Zone, in Izmir, Turkey, with Hasan Opçin overseeing the new company as business manager and technical director.

Hasan enjoys meeting technical challenges head-on, taking great satisfaction in the success that follows.  He loves working on all kinds of restoration projects,  including some of the most valuable rugs and textiles in the world.  His pride is reflected in the quality of work that is done at ATC and the confidence that he and his team are unsurpassed in what they do.
